ieltscoverIELTS The Ultimate Unofficial Guide

It gives us great pleasure to offer the very first IELTS Guide for the Kindle. It is for the ACADEMIC exam and NOT the general test. I have trained more than 1000 students and another 30,000 have downloaded materials from my Website to pass the IELTs exam and what started as a few notes for my students has ended up as a complete guide. I maybe the author, but my students have spent years telling me, what they need to know and what I need to do to make sure that they get past the test!

This book is not just a few past papers, but a real guide to help you pass the test. It tells you the timings, the vocabulary you need, how to write your essays, the reading techniques you will need to use and most importantly what you are going to need to speak about! Also we don’t give you 4 measly writing exercises, with the odd answer. We give you 20 Sample questions with answers done in the REAL time! If you want sample papers then there are plenty available, but if you really want an insiders guide to passing the exam, then this book is for you!

Step Upto IELTS

This book provides a course for weaker students to try to score IELTs 5 - 5.5. It is a good coursebook for Upper Intermediate learners.

This course covers essential exam skills and language for IELTS in approximately 60 hours' teaching time, and familiarises students quickly with the exam. The course covers both the Academic and General Training modules It provides students with invaluable advice on how to maximise their band score in the exam. Shorter, achievable exam-type tasks build students' exam skills, before students try the more challenging tasks at authentic test level. The test practice sections at the end of each unit together constitute a whole sample IELTS test.

The 'With answers' edition contains a full answer key and information on the exam, making it ideal for students preparing independently. For students with more time, the pocket-sized Personal Study Book provides extra vocabulary, grammar and writing practice. The Self-study Pack contains the Self-study Student's Book and Audio CDs (2). Read More...

IELTS Examinations books

IELTs Testbuilder is the cheapest of the IELTS examination books and comes with 2 CDs, but for schools it is worth getting more than just this book and the Cambridge University Press series are excellent if a little pricey.

(Please make sure you buy the self-study packs with CDs)

For large schools IELTS 2 and IELTS 1 do provide good practice, but they're very old and so I'd make them the final purchases.
